Dressed for the job – since 1925

Fristads and their Danish sister brand Kansas supply workwear for everyone from the carpenter who installed your windows to the workers on an oil rig far out in the North Sea. On top of that, they also provide uniforms for most industries. It’s high-quality clothing with a focus on sustainability, designed to be sold to multinational corporations, large reseller networks, and even the local carpenters. That requires a platform that can handle a lot of everything.

The easiest way to shop

To make it as customized as possible for each customer, there are many ways to shop with Fristads Kansas. The shop can be set up so that individual employees are allocated points and choose the clothing they need themselves. It can also be a purchaser pre-ordering clothing for hundreds of employees at once. The shop even makes it easy to add logos and embroidery right away, so the workwear matches the customer’s style guides.

"We're not just selling workwear — we're selling solutions. When you look at e-commerce and digitalization, it's not just a matter of ordering some products. It's also about all the other processes. It's about giving people an overview. It's about helping them improve their sales. Helping them so they can better support their own customers."

100% online procurement for big business

Fristads Kansas works with some of the largest industrial companies in Europe. These companies only purchase through their own procurement systems, which means the e-commerce platform handles punch-out solutions for more than 20 different procurement systems. This allows large customers to stay within their own ecosystems without needing logins for all their suppliers’ sites. It’s simply a license to play when dealing with the biggest players in the market. That’s why Fristads Kansas’ solution is, of course, easy to integrate with new procurement systems. It also means that order intake from the largest customers is almost 100% digital and managed by the e-commerce platform.

Fristads Kansas’ e-commerce solution is a flexible platform that can truly adapt to each customer’s needs. Green math on a green calculator

Fristads & Kansas were the world’s first to create Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for some of their workwear. These calculate in detail the CO₂ and water footprint of each product. This has enabled Fristads Kansas to develop new workwear with significantly lower CO₂ and water impact using new textile technologies. This is measurable in the Green Calculator tool, built directly into the Fristads & Kansas webshop. Here, purchasers can compare two garments and see their climate impact, making it easy to choose the greener alternative.

Climate and environmental benefits with re-commerce

Fristads Kansas is a leader in climate and environmental initiatives. Their clothing is now PFAS-free, and they’ve reduced CO₂ emissions by 29% since 2022. The e-commerce solution strongly supports this effort by offering Sustainability as a Service, allowing customers to return used workwear. The clothing is then restored or upcycled—often into new workwear that the customer buys again. Some customers even require that reused and recycled clothing must be sold before newly produced items can be purchased. This is re-commerce without greenwashing.
